Hall Estill Welcomes Hogue Law Firm to Northwest Arkansas Office

October 2023

Hall Estill, a regional Southwestern law firm, with offices in Northwest Arkansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Denver, has announced that Brian Hogue and David Hogue have joined the firm as shareholders, Matthew Benson and Marshall Hubbard have joined as special counsel and Tyler Benson has joined in an of counsel position in the Northwest Arkansas office.

“We are pleased to welcome these five exceptional attorneys to our team, and we know they will significantly enhance our services and be a valuable resource to our clients in Northwest Arkansas,” said Steve Ray, managing partner for Hall Estill.

Brian Hogue and David Hogue, brothers and lifelong residents of Fayetteville, join Hall Estill after 12 years of representing clients through their practice, Hogue Law Firm, PLLC.

“We’re excited about being associated with a large, regional law firm like Hall Estill, while still maintaining our local connections,” said Brian Hogue. “Joining Hall Estill will expand our collective capabilities and deepen our resources, allowing us to focus on what we do best — practicing law and serving our clients.”

Brian Hogue devotes a large portion of practice to family law and provides mediation services in civil and domestic relation cases. He also represents clients in the areas of probate, general civil litigation, landlord/tenant and general business matters. He began his law practice in Little Rock, Arkansas, working primarily in insurance defense litigation.

David Hogue focuses primarily on criminal defense work, representing clients as they navigate the criminal justice system. Prior to founding Hogue Law Firm, he worked as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Washington County, Arkansas.

This move increases the number of Hall Estill attorneys serving the Northwest Arkansas region to ten, doubling the capacity of that office. Brian and David Hogue also join their father, Curtis Hogue, a Hall Estill shareholder who has worked in the Northwest Arkansas office since 2000.

“As second-generation attorneys, Brian and I were born and raised here in the Fayetteville legal community,” David Hogue said. “Practicing law with our dad is something we’ve always wanted to do, so this is a unique opportunity for us.”

Matthew Benson joins the firm with experience in domestic and criminal law. He began his legal career with the U.S. Department of Justice as a law clerk with the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, helping to prosecute federal crimes. He later served as a deputy prosecuting attorney with the Benton County prosecutor’s office before entering private practice.

Marshall Hubbard represents clients with issues primarily focused in debtor-creditor law. Within his practice he provides legal services covering matters regarding bankruptcy, consumer/creditor rights, civil litigation, judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, collection lawsuits, contracts and other banking matters.

Tyler Benson’s legal experience began at the Washington County Public Defender’s Office before moving to private practice in 2013. His practice includes all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, adoptions and alimony, as well as all state and federal criminal matters. He is also certified to mediate family law, and helps his clients with wills, trusts and estates.

“These lawyers bring strong relationships and local expertise that will continue to strengthen our Fayetteville office,” said Ray. “I am confident our clients will be pleased with these additions with their excellent track record.”
