Alexandra “Allie” Ah Loy is a partner and trial lawyer with federal and state trials related to a wide array of general liability, premises liability, constitutional and governmental entity, civil rights and §1983, medical and allied health professional liability, dental, professional board defense, employment, construction, auto and transportation, products liability, and subrogation litigation. Due to the nature of her trial practice, Allie is an accomplished appellate, motion, and critical issues lawyer writing complex and nuanced motions, briefs, and appeals on subjects that span the gamut of civil, constitution, and even some criminal matters. She has argued significant dispositive and precedent setting motions and briefs before federal trial and appellate courts across multiple jurisdictions and circuits including the Eighth and Tenth U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Inside the courtroom, her compassion, composure, and connection with jurors allows her to present evidence in a credible manner and ultimately persuade jurors resulting in favorable outcomes in hard fought complex cases. Outside the courtroom, she serves as a partner to her clients in helping them avoid and reduce risk through a thoughtful and individualized approach to claims and litigation focused on defending her client’s interests, understanding their risk tolerance, and diligently working towards resolution while laying the foundation for the best defense if trial is necessary.

Allie’s practice has been shaped by her career as both in-house and outside counsel. Prior to joining Hall Estill, she spent years as Chief Legal Officer for a correctional healthcare company where she handled both litigation, employment, and corporate affairs for an organization and was instrumental in the company’s structured growth. Her experience advising as a corporate officer in the procurement, pricing, and design of a bespoke captive insurance program, lead her to return to outside practice as the company’s national trial counsel – a role she continues to hold today. Allie’s in-house practice also informs her intent to not just be defense counsel but rather a true partner to her clients in overall risk management and mitigation. She routinely advises clients in corporate risk management, insurance, loss prevention, safety services, employment matters, and artificial intelligence usage and governance.

Her unique experience in managing outside defense counsel and insurance claims has crafted and instilled a commitment to serving all of her clients diligently and with the same tenacity no matter what the exposure is knowing that for each insured and client, the case to them is personal and it matters.

Allie graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Juris Doctor, cum laude, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma. She is also a Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional through the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. She routinely speaks on correctional health, constitutional and civil rights, labor and employment, and healthcare related issues around the country.
