Transforming Hunger into Hope: Hall Estill and Feed the Children Join Forces to Bring No Hunger Holidays to Hilldale Elementary Students

Hall Estill and Feed the Children are working together to bring No Hunger Holidays to Hilldale Elementary students during the season of giving. With the help of the school’s teachers as well as other Feed the Children volunteers, this event provided vulnerable children and their families with much-needed food and essentials.

Each family was pre-idenified by Hilldale Elementary and received a 25-pound box of food; and a 10-pound box of daily essentials for life such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion and personal-care items. For families who struggle to put food on the table, these items will bring relief and help make the holidays a little brighter.

The No Hunger Holidays campaign was designed to help children and families during the holidays, as well as bring awareness to the important issue of childhood hunger. With more than 17 percent of Oklahoma City residents living below the poverty line, many children feel left out of the festivities while their parents are concerned with just making ends meet. It can be especially difficult once school is out for the holidays, leaving children food insecure - without a source for consistent meals.

“We are excited to partner with Feed the Children to help our Oklahoma City neighbors. Oklahoma is Hall Estill’s home and we take pride in our firm’s support of our community,” said Elaine Turner, Shareholder for Hall Estill. “It’s very important to us that we give back and we hope that our contributions make a difference during the holidays and throughout the year.”

Feed the Children has planned No Hunger Holidays events in multiple communities across Oklahoma and around the U.S. as part of its campaign to transform hunger into hope during this season.

“We are honored to bring a brighter holiday season to families in our own backyard,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children president and CEO. “We are not only providing food and essentials to these families—but also hope. Hope is made possible thanks to local partners, such as Hall Estill and Hilldale Elementary, who play a vital role in helping us create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.”
