June 24, 2019
Hall Estill, a regional Southwestern law firm, with offices in Denver, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Northwest Arkansas, has announced the addition of Jennifer E. Benda as a shareholder in the firm’s Denver office.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jennifer to our expanding Denver office. We know she will continue to build on the firm’s reputation for excellence,” said Mike Cooke, managing partner for Hall Estill. “She brings unique skills and knowledge to our firm, allowing us to better serve our clients regionally and nationally.”
A former Certified Public Accountant, Benda is an experienced tax attorney who handles tax controversy and income tax planning and compliance matters. She has developed a niche advising and defending businesses in the cannabis industry with tax related matters. Benda has been recognized by Chambers USA for cannabis law and was named a Cannabis Law Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. In addition, Benda’s decade-long tenure as a CPA prior to entering the legal field enables her to provide additional benefits to clients in cases involving valuation or accounting issues.
“Jennifer is a great addition to our shareholder team and will be a great representative of our firm,” said Kip Hunter, senior shareholder for Hall Estill. “Jennifer’s excellent reputation and extensive experience is a great complement to our services and an asset to our clients.”
Benda is also involved in the community as an ABA Adopt-A-Base trainer for the IRS Military VITA program. On behalf of this program, she recruits teaching volunteers and leads training of volunteers who will be preparing tax returns for military families at military bases in Colorado. She received her J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School.
