Jean Carlos Lopez
Mr. López began his career with Hall Estill and practices in various fields, with concentrations in Bankruptcy Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Corporate/Commercial Litigation, and Corporate Transactions. He is the recipient of a 2011 Tulsa County Bar Association President's Award for his leadership with the Diversity Program at Rogers High School.
A native of Puerto Rico, Jean (pronounced "Jan") spent his formative years on the island and later in Claremore, Oklahoma, from where he graduated high school. Moving on to the University of Oklahoma, Jean enjoyed participating in the National Merit Scholars/OU Regents' Scholars program, marching on Owen Field with the Pride of Oklahoma marching band, and serving the university as Chairman of the Student Alumni Association and the Class Gift Committee. His proudest accomplishments as a Sooner are his membership in PE-ET, the university's historic secret society for its top 10 senior students, and earning the Letzeiser Silver Medal for outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, and community service.
Following graduation from the University of Oklahoma, Jean enrolled at the university's College of Law. While at the College of Law, Jean served as Note Editor of the Oklahoma Law Review and published Weapon of Mass Coercion: How eBay, Inc. v. MercExchange, L.L.C. Eliminated the Threat of Coercive Automatic Permanent Injunctive Relief and Restored Balance to the American Patent System, 60 Okla. L. Rev. 605 (2007), as well as advised student authors and helped ten of them achieve publication in the College of Law's flagship legal journal. As a law student, Jean also explored his interest in the intersection of law and business by participating in the university's Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth program and serving as Law Clerk to the university's Vice President for Technology Development. Among his most memorable experiences as a law student are traveling throughout Europe with only a Rick Steves' guidebook and participating in the College of Law's program at Brasenose College in Oxford, England.
When not at work, he enjoys maximizing his time with his wife, Kimberly, and their two Golden Retrievers, Harry and Eva.
