J. Kevin Hayes

Mr. Hayes has been with Hall Estill since his graduation from law school in 1975 and has built his practice around energy, telecommunications and general business litigation, with emphasis on defense of class actions. He serves on the firm’s Board of Directors as a Senior Board member. He has an individual AV rating through Martindale-Hubbell and was selected a Best Lawyers in America in Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Energy Law; recognized as an Oklahoma Super Lawyer in Energy & Natural Resources; Ranked by Chambers USA as a "Band 2" attorney in Energy & Natural Resources Law; and named a local litigation star by Benchmark Litigation.   Mr. Hayes has also been named as Tulsa Best Lawyers Energy Lawyer of the Year for 2011.

In addition, he is a frequent speaker on energy issues, and has authored numerous papers including: Gas Royalty Issues Arising from Direct Gas Marketing, Southwestern Legal Foundation's 43rd Annual Institute; Gas Marketing Royalty Issues in the 1990's, Oil & Gas Law and Taxation Review; and Information Retention and Management Approaches to Assist in Being Prepared to Defend Potential Royalty Claims and Lawsuits, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, Special Institute on Private Oil and Gas Royalties, 2008.
