Mr. Cox practices in the firm’s Commercial Practice Group and has been with Hall Estill since 1981.  His practice has consisted primarily of commercial transactional work with an emphasis on real estate and telecommunications transactions.  Substantive areas of practice have included loan and bond transactions and construction, development, leasing, management, acquisition, sale and zoning of properties. He has an individual AV rating through Martindale-Hubbell; has been selected a Best Lawyer in America in Corporate Law and Real Estate Law; and is ranked in Band 2 in Real Estate Law by Chambers USA. In addition, he has served as a presenter at the Oklahoma Bar Association Seminar: Commercial Real Estate Transaction Land Use Issues, Physical Condition Issues and Environmental Issues; as well as at the Oklahoma Bar Association Seminar: Remedies for Breach of Real Estate Purchase Agreements.

Significant highlights of his legal career include:

  • Lead real estate attorney for major telecommunications carrier.
  • Negotiated office-lease transaction on behalf of landlords, resulting in the lease of 153,000 square feet of space and the relocation of a major car rental company to Tulsa and the leasing of approximately 100,000 square feet for call center.
  • Representation of various landlords in the leasing and management of office buildings in Tulsa.
  • Representation of large realty corporation in the development, construction, operation and management of numerous mixed-use facilities, including the Williams Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma; the Riverwalk, San Antonio, Texas; the Tabor Center, Denver, Colorado; Crown Center, Kansas City, Missouri and One Independence Center, Charlotte, North Carolina.
  • Representation of several telecommunications carriers in the acquisition, development and construction of nationwide telecommunications systems, including negotiation with municipalities regarding use of rights of way.
