Mike E. Smith was invited to join the Oklahoma Heritage Association board of directors.

April 5, 2011

Mike E. Smith has been invited to join the Oklahoma Heritage Association board of directors by incoming Chairperson, Calvin Anthony.

He selected Mike in recognition of the respect Mike has earned during his years as an attorney working throughout Oklahoma, as well as his admiration for his home state and its people, which is consistent with the mission of the Oklahoma Heritage Association.

The Oklahoma Heritage Association is a statewide 84-year-old non-profit organization with a mission of preserving Oklahoma history and promoting pride in the state. The Association was founded to create the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, induction into which is the highest honor an Oklahoman can receive from the state, and provides educational opportunities for students and teachers alike. The Association has been publishing books on Oklahoma’s people and heritage for more than 35 years, annually offers more than $500,000 in scholarships to Oklahoma high school students, and recognizes individuals, educators and organizations that work to preserve state and local history. In 2007, the Association opened the high-tech, interactive Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum to tell Oklahoma’s story through its people.

Congratulations Mike.
