Alternative/Renewable Energy

As the nation looked toward alternative/renewable energy to provide power, the firm expanded in this arena, forming the Alternative/Renewable Energy practice group in 2006. Our attorneys assist clients with a myriad of alternative and renewable energy projects, including wind power facilities; cogeneration plants; and ethanol, renewable diesel and biodiesel production facilities in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Kansas. We also counsel clients in electrical and liquid fuel infrastructure and related contracting matters.

We believe natural gas will continue to play a significant and increased role as the Nation transitions from traditional energy sources to alternative/renewable energy sources. Within this realm we have experience in all aspects of natural gas exploration, production and midstream operations.

Commercial Banks

Our attorneys assist clients in many facets of banking-related matters, including commercial lending transactions, commercial collections, loan workouts and foreclosures, lender liability claims, as well as personal banking and financial matters. We represent a wide range of financial institutions, both publicly and privately owned, and their related affiliates. The firm represents the customers of financial institutions who require single or multiple bank lines of credit, venture capital, acquisition financing, structured, term and revolving credit facilities.

Construction

Our Construction Law practice group draws upon the expertise of attorneys with corporate, environmental, insurance, litigation and real estate expertise. Our experience ranges from in-house with national engineering/contractors, to government and large law firms in major metropolitan areas. Our attorneys are past chairs of their respective practice sections of the Oklahoma Bar Association, directors of the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel and members of the ABA Construction Litigation Section and the ABA Construction Forum. Hall Estill attorneys have been involved in international alternative dispute resolutions before the Royal Academy of Architects and other internationally recognized adjudicatory bodies in resolving construction issues.

Indian Gaming

We have in-depth knowledge of all facets relating to Indian law, our attorneys have expertise in negotiating a wide variety of gaming-related agreements, including management, development and financing agreements, and compacts pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988.

Led by two of the leading Media Law attorneys in the region, our Media Law practice group specializes in litigation, as well as in preventative counsel regarding pre-publication and pre-broadcast review. We have successfully represented a diverse media clientele, including television, radio and cable networks, daily and weekly newspapers, magazine and book publishers, cable companies, advertising agencies, trade associations and software companies. Further, we are a member of the Defense Counsel Section of the Media Law Resource Center.

Oil & Gas/Energy

Hall Estill was founded in the representation of oil & gas clients and has continued to grow in our 40-year history. Our attorneys have proven experience in all phases of exploration and production issues, transportation and storage, representation of gatherers, secured financing, dealing with partnership and unincorporated entities, as well as aiding clients in purchasing oil and gas assets. We have tremendous depth in mid-stream businesses and all facets of the pipeline industry.
